4What is the cost of the HAEC Experience?
The cost for our 2027 experiences is $5,000 for all experiences in Accra and the cost for the St. Croix experience is $4,000.
5Who is considered Young Alumni?
Young Alumni are individuals who have graduated within the past five years or are set to graduate within the next year.

7When is the initial deposit due and how much is it?
The initial deposit of $350 is non refundable and due by September 10th, 2026.
8Does HAEC provide funding opportunities for students to apply?
All students are encouraged to visit their college’s International Study Abroad Office, as the university may be able to provide initial funding. Once students apply and are accepted, our organization supports them with effective fundraising strategies.
9Can I gain course credit?
Yes. Huston Tillotson University is the "university of record" for HAEC 3GC study abroad experiences. Participants should also consult their academic advisor about global courses in their own university catalog.
10What are the requirements for a HAEC study abroad experience?
- must be a currently enrolled college student that meets the academic and behavioral requirements of their university.
- must participate in the HAEC application process including the group interview and receive an official acceptance
11When can I fundraise?
Applicants should begin fundraising immediately after being granted acceptance. The HAEC 3GC team collaboratively works with groups toward fundraising strategies.
12When do applications open and close for 2027 applications?
Applications opened on April 27, 2026. Applications will close on September 1, 2026
13Are there opportunities for university faculty to participate?
Yes, HAEC-3GC has faculty led study abroad programs. Please email info@haec100k.org for details.
14How do I pay the program fee including Non refundable deposit?
Accepted participants will receive an electronic invoice to pay online from the organization's bank. Participants should pay exactly what the invoice states which includes the bank's electronic processing fees. Please note that ALL banks charge fees to make electronic transactions to facilitate payments. The banking fees are separate from the program fee. Most banks charge from 2.99-3.5%. HAEC-3GC does not receive the bank fees, it goes directly to the bank. If using electronic payments, one must acknowledge that the fee is automatic from bank and non refundable as the bank policy. Banking fees are normal business transaction costs.
15Is the experience a trip or a vacation?
No, Study abroad is NOT a vacation. Study abroad is NOT a trip. Study abroad is about servant leadership at a global level that gives opportunity for exchange of cultural perspectives, global networking, collaborative leadership, research and more.
16Can my family travel with me?
HAEC 3GC provides student and faculty experiences only. An affiliated group provides community member experiences. Please email us at info@haec100k.org for details for Sanbrafie Group.
17Does HAEC 3GC take personal checks?
No. Most organizations and businesses DO NOT take personal checks in today's times. Persons can opt to send cashier checks as form of payment made out from a bank, yet it must be received on time.
