At HAEC, we leverage the 100,000 Strong Africa Initiative to facilitate access to study abroad opportunities for students of African descent. Through strategic partnerships with universities, governments, and businesses, we have adopted a unique Pan African Study Abroad Model developed by Booker Ammah, Walls, and Walls (2019). This model serves as a roadmap for students and universities, creating sustainable study abroad opportunities and fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Our mission is supported by a three-pronged tactical execution strategy. Firstly, we work to increase awareness of the benefits of study abroad programs among students, faculty, and staff at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Secondly, we forge partnerships with organizations, universities, and businesses committed to promoting study-abroad opportunities for students of African descent. Lastly, we provide support and resources to ensure the success of study abroad programs for students, universities, and partners.

Through collaborative initiatives and programs, we aim to eliminate disparities in access to study-abroad opportunities for African students and enhance the quality of higher education on the continent. Our vision is a world where every student of African descent has equal access to study abroad and other opportunities, regardless of their background or location. We empower and inspire the next generation of African leaders, contributing to a more inclusive and globally connected future.
