During the HAEC 2024 Ghana Experience, conference participants visited the historic Assin Manso Slave River Site, engaging in a deeply moving journey that connected them with a profound chapter of African and world history. This visit to Assin Manso—a central point along the transatlantic slave trade route—offered participants a powerful opportunity to reflect on the past, honor ancestral resilience, and absorb the historical significance of the site. Walking the grounds of the former slave market and following the path to the river where enslaved Africans took their "last bath" before being sent to coastal dungeons, participants connected with the weight of history and the enduring legacy of those who endured these trials. Guided by local historians, they gained insight into stories passed down through generations, deepening their understanding of history and fostering a shared commitment to remembrance, cultural unity, and Pan-African solidarity.
